Terms of Service
Effective Date: June 1, 2025
Last Updated: April 4, 2026
Version: 1.2
1. Overview
BillBench™ helps contractors, freelancers, and small businesses quickly create quotes and invoices. By using our site and services, you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using BillBench™, you agree to follow and be bound by these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
3. Account Responsibility
You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. BillBench™ isn’t liable for any unauthorized access that results from your actions (or inaction).
4. Permitted Use
You agree to use BillBench™ for lawful purposes only. Don’t use it to create fraudulent documents, spam, or harass anyone.
5. Subscriptions & Billing
BillBench™ runs on a flat-rate subscription. You can cancel anytime from your account. Refunds aren’t guaranteed unless legally required.
We use third-party providers, Clerk and Stripe, both trusted, industry-leading platforms, to securely manage user accounts and payments. Clerk's privacy policy can be found here, and Stripe's privacy policy can be found here.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the site - including our name, logo, templates, and platform - belongs to BillBench™. Please don’t copy, resell, or reuse it without permission.
7. Data Storage & Cloud Infrastructure
To help prevent accidental data loss while you're editing, BillBench™ temporarily stores some of your input (e.g. invoice line items, form fields) in your browser's local storage. This information stays on your device and provides fast access to your work in progress.
For your security and privacy, that local data is cleared when you leave the site (for example when you close the tab or navigate away), which reduces the risk of leaving work-in-progress data on a shared device. Data you have already synced to your account remains available when you sign in again.
When you're signed in, your saved application data is processed and stored using Amazon Web Services (AWS). Structured data (such as customers, form and line-item fields, tax and currency settings, business profile text, item catalog entries, preferences, and references to uploaded media) is stored in Amazon DynamoDB. Binary files you upload for logos, signatures, and document photos are stored in Amazon S3. DynamoDB holds metadata (for example S3 object keys and titles), not the image files themselves. Access to your cloud data is tied to your account authentication; AWS provides encryption in transit and at rest as part of its platform.
Document photos you attach may be subject to automatic deletion from S3 after a limited retention period (for example, on the order of three months) as part of our storage lifecycle. Logos and signatures are not removed by that same rule unless you replace them or delete your account. PDFs are generated on demand and are not kept on our servers after you download or leave the flow.
8. Analytics & Measurement
We use Beam Analytics, a privacy-oriented analytics product, to understand aggregate site usage. Beam states that it does not use cookies for its own collection; see beamanalytics.io for their documentation.
We also load Google tags on this site (for example Google Ads conversion and measurement). Google may collect or process data according to its own policies; see Google’s Privacy Policy.
9. Limitation of Liability
BillBench™ is provided “as is.” We’re not responsible for financial loss, missed payments, or any issues that arise from using the documents you create.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time - for example, if we launch new features or change how things work. The most up-to-date version will always be on this page. If the changes are important, we may also highlight them on the site.
